At Project Pit, we are dedicated to creating impactful programming, events, and festivals that bring communities together. We believe that by connecting social impact with culture, we can foster inclusivity, promote equity, and drive meaningful change within our communities.

Project Pit:

Our Story:

Project Pit was born from grief and built on love. After losing his mother, our founder, Carlton, found himself in a dark place. Depression, addiction, and silence nearly took him under. But the support of friends, family, and therapy helped him climb out—and showed him just how many others were still trapped in their pits, with no one to call.

So he created Project Pit: a safe, healing space where no one has to suffer in silence. We serve Los Angeles’s underserved communities with compassion, creativity, and consistency through festivals, mental health support, and moments of real connection.

No one should have to heal alone. At Project Pit,

we rise together.

The Mission:

To create accessible, heartfelt spaces that uplift underserved communities—especially in Los Angeles’ inner city—through transformative events, resources, and connections. Whether it’s a healing circle, a festival, or a mentorship moment, we’re committed to making mental health support and community care available to everyone.

Consistent. Compassionate. Creative. Project Pit is a stable, loyal ally, producing large-scale festivals like our Pride Month celebration, The I Love Myself Festival, intimate Senior Day events, and ongoing wellness and mentorship programming. We listen first, act with kindness, and deliver reliable support, rooted in community, every step of the way.

Our Approach:

Who we Serve:

We stand with LGBTQ+ individuals, seniors, youth, people with special needs, artists, and families across all ages and races. Centered in LA’s heart, our doors—and hearts—are open to anyone seeking acceptance, belonging, or a fresh start.

After stepping into a Project Pit event, people often say they feel seen, loved, and safe. With music, art, food, healing circles, therapy resources, and mental health awareness woven throughout our activations, we spark joy and spark connection, leaving participants feeling supported, empowered, and part of something real.
